A Personal Message
So what is it like being a Prophet?
The truth is I cannot tell you. That would be like trying describe how skins wraps around bones. Having the gift of prophecy is different than walking in the office of a Prophet. What's the difference you may ask?
Responsibility and accountability are a couple things that come to mind.
When the Spirit of prophecy comes upon a person you can hardl mess that up. It was not planned, you didn't have a chance to think it through. You spoke as the Spirit gives utterance. Then it's over.
People that are Prophets function differently. That Spirit never leaves us even if we fall into sin. More than a gift, it's an office an can be abused if we are not careful. Our job is to help people not ourself. If we use the office of the Prophet for selfish gain and self promotion we are in trouble. Remember if we are in an office we have a boss an overseer. That would be God. He sees and knows all things. We can fool the people but we will not fool God.
How do we avoid these pitfalls?
That's easy, it's simply said not simply done. Communication is key. Intimacy is a better term. You can read scriptures, fast and go through every other method known to man and still not gain a level of intimacy that will protect you from the enemy and yourself. It is only in truth that you will find this place. Intimacy at this level demands honesty. Openness and transparency. You live in a place of complete nakedness before God and you are not ashamed. You have nothing to hide from Him and He has nothing to hide from you. As long as you live in this place the sun/son shines. It's when you move away from here that you now begin to live and work in the shadows.
Functioning in the Prophetic outside of God is demonic. It turns into something God never intended. The office that was meant to exalt God now serves man and exalts him. God said in the last days many false prophets would come. He did not mean from the dark side. He was warning about those who turn from the truth and the light.
Be careful who you listen to. What you think is prosperity and good fruit is not always from God.
